Lucy June Lund

Lucy June Lund graced us with her presence on March 9, 2013 at 2:16 pm. She weighed 8 lbs 6 oz and was 19 inches long.

My doctor ended up inducing me because I was done. Done being pregnant! I think my family was done with me too. I really wanted her to come on her own but I couldn't even make it to my due date. Usually I can wait until that day but not this time. It might have something to do with Luke being gone that week with business. It wore me out. My delivery went just like my others. I got to the hospital about 9 am. Was all hooked up by 10. My Doctor broke my water and then we just played the waiting game. I was dilated to a 4 and it seemed to stay that way forever. Finally at about 1:45 I felt a lot of pressure and the nurse said I was ready to push. I literally pushed 2 times and they were the lightest pushes ever. It was a great delivery. Probably one of my best!

Lucy came out with the cord wrapped around her neck and didn't cry for a while. She had us a little worried but she has made up for it since. We love her, and the kids LOVE her, almost a little too much. We can't get enough of having another girl in the family. It's been a fun change. She's proven to be one of my hardest newborns. She reminds me a lot of Nick when he was a baby. Were getting used to the fact that we have 5 kids now. Life is crazy and there are many days I'm not sure I can last until the end of it. Luckily I have a husband who is a tremendous help. He never hesitates when I ask him to help me. Not sure what I would do without him.
