You tell me....

what's wrong with this picture?
Your answer might be that our tree is tiny and we need a bigger one, right? Is that your final answer? Nope you are wrong. Yes I do understand that we have a tiny tree but hey it was free, I can't complain. Click on the picture and look closely. All of my ornaments are on the top half(except for a teddy bear on the bottom left that i have made Parker's toy, and so far the legs have been broken off and one arm). I hate this, it drives me crazy but you see I have a crazy crazy toddler who thinks he can touch everything. And for some reason everything he touches breaks. The 2 older kids never really had this problem. Sure they started touching them but after a couple No's and timeouts they got the point. Not my Parker, this kid has a mind of it's own.

I love my ornaments and I want them to be all over my tree. I am not a matchy matchy tree person. While i think they are beautiful it's just not my style right now. Maybe in 10 years when I have my dream house and a lot money. From the time I was a baby my parents gave us an ornament every year for Christmas. They were always the fun Hallmark one that played music or something really cool that we did that year. When I got married my Mom handed them all to me and Luke and I have carried on this tradition. I love getting out all of my ornaments and having all of the memories come back to me. It's a fun time but like I said I can't wait until I can put them all over the tree and not worry about any of them getting broken. It could be awhile....

Your tree looks a lot like mine. I too look forward to the day when I can have a gorgeous tree that is decorated from top to BOTTOM!

Sometimes I forget what it is like to have a toddler running around. My kids are old enough to know if they touch the tree, they are dead :)

Totally sister, my tree looks like yours! Just today I had people over and was explaining to them why tree looks so ridiculous but apparently I shouldn't be so ashamed since it looks like I'm not the only one! :)

I just read your comment and I'm so bummed but we are staying home for Christmas this year but my parents and Zach are coming to us. It's going to be pretty cool actually. No travel but we still get to celebrate with family. We are so excited. I would love to get together when I do visit next time though. It is completely nuts when I come home because all of my siblings come home just to see us. What we'll have to do is plan something before I get into town next time. That would be awesome!

That is exactly what my tree looks like! We tried putting ornaments on the whole tree, and Tyler pulled all of the ones off that he could reach. :) Atleast Parker is a cutie! ;)

I'm not evening putting ornaments up this year, just the lights. However, I like your idea..so we'll see. =)

What happened to sweet perfect Parker, ha, ha! Your tree still looks beautiful. We don't even have any Christmas stuff because we have never stayed in our home for Christmas. It never even feels like Christmas for me until we get to Vegas. Good Luck!

I love the idea of ornaments each year. I keep planning on doing this with my own kids but I never get around to it. One day!

My sister in law puts the octagon gate around her tree for that reason. Your idea is less noticable. I know I'm going to have that same problem next year with David.

I'm with ya. Only my tree doesn't have any ornaments up high. That's because my kids decorate it and they aren't quite tall enough. Although with their different heights, we are covering more and more of the tree than we used to. In how ever many years when we have our perfect trees, I'm sure were going to miss the ones we have right now!

That's how our tree looked last year too. And, I don't think your tree looks small at all! At least your free hand-me-down tree is green. Our free hand-me-down tree has this odd blue tint to it. But, it was free, so that's what we use...

haha, I know all too well how this goes. This is my golden year. Tyler is old enough to not destroy the tree and Owen is too short to reach it! Woo hoo!
