PARTY!!

(The basketball cake I made)

Nick wanted a sports theme for his birthday this year. Surprise, surprise! We decided to call it Nick's Sports Camp. We had little events for the boys to do. Home Run Derby, timed Slip n Slide races, and Frisbee Toss. The kids had a lot of fun, even though it was a billion degrees outside plus bad humidity. I really do love doing birthday parties. It completely stresses me out, but I love seeing how excited the kids get. Out of all my kids Nick is the one who tells me in detail what he wants. Every year I say I am done with outside parties because it is so hot, but then I give in. He had fun and who cares if I was sweating like a pig during the whole party. That my friends is the reason why you don't see any pictures of me. It was not a pretty sight.

These were the medals I made for each kid

Home run!
All the boys waiting for the ball. I love this picture because it reminds me of when I was younger and we used to be outside all day and play in the streets. Oh the good old days.

The Winners!!
Parker and Jack

On his actual birthday we celebrated with Friendly Donuts and gifts from mom and dad. Nicholas really wanted an iPod for his birthday. Sorry buddy you are 6, it's not happening. We did give him my old MP3 player and put some of his favorite songs on it. He loves it and still insists it's an iPod.
Grandma and Grandpa Lund gave him his very first real basketball. He loves it and can't wait to use it for basketball season in November.
I think he had a great 6th birthday. He is currently talking about what he wants to do for his 7th. Heaven help me!!

I'm seriously impressed Alisa at those mad decorating/party planning skills you got. If only I lived closer to bounce ideas off of you for my kids parties. I got a good laugh at how you had to talk Nicholas out of a Justin B...(don't know the last name) t shirt. :) Glad to know you're looking out for his reputation. He's lucky to have a cool mom. Also congrats on what you commented on my healthy blog! Good job! I'm shooting for a similar loss this week! And thanks for helping me feel better too.

What a fun party! I think the medals and olympic games are a great idea! I wonder if Blake would go for it. He is currently talking about his birthday and planning ahead. :) The theme changes often, bowling, chuck e cheese, batman...whatever. Something easy at home is what I say.
