Back to school

We decided to start a new tradition for our family. The weekend before school starts we go out to eat to a restaurant and then get fro yo. I realize to many of you that's not a big deal. I don't remember the last time we took our kids to a sit down place to eat. The main reason is how pricey it gets. I remember when we could let them eat off of our plates. Those were the days. The kids were so excited to go eat at a "cool" place. They chose IHop and then to Golden Spoon. We had a lot of fun. Sometimes I get caught up in trying to make them behave and not make a scene that I forget to sit back, relax, and just laugh at how silly they are being.(like Parker's picture above). Noah couldn't get enough of our yogurts.
The best looking family that was at Golden Spoon
It was a fun night and I can't wait to do this every year before the school year starts.

Nicholas started 1st grade a couple days ago. I had mixed feelings. I'm not going to lie that it's nice having 1 less kid for a little over 6 hours. Luckily I was wearing my big ol sunglasses so no one could see my tears. They were happy tears though. This boy is growing up. He makes me proud. He was very excited about bringing his lunch to school. I am still not convinced that he eats it all.
I forgot to bring my camera to school but I took out my phone and snapped a picture of him and friends having a chat. I love how Nick is so social. He wants to be everyone's friends. On the 2nd day he just wanted me to pull up and not get out with him. He said he knew where to go. When I asked what number dot he puts his backpack on he had no clue. That's what I thought, you still need me. On his 3rd day today I walked with him to the dot and he threw his backpack down and said "see ya mom!" Looks like he really doesn't need me. I am so excited for him to learn and grow. He will do great!

Our kids are loving the frozen yogurt these days too! Nicky will do great at school. It's crazy how quickly they grow up and make friends. Blake made a good friend already that he wants to come play. And I know Nicky is way more social than Blake. He'll probably want playdates everyday!

That picture of Parker is hilarious! Love the new tradition. I should do something like that. My kids start school on Tuesday and I still can't believe I will have 2 gone ALL day. Sounds cheesie, but they do grow up fast. First grade seems to be the hardest for me to get over. Gage is going to 2nd & it doesn't phase me so much. But Jake is going to 1st and I'll probably cry. :)Hopefully it's not raining here, so I can wear sunglasses! Hahaha!

1st grade scares me. Glad to hear you and him both survived! He looked so cute on his first day.
