Nicholas and his teacher Mrs. Henn
Today was Nicholas's first day of Kindergarten. I thought I would be a mess because I have been really nervous for him the last couple days. We get there and he immediately drops his backpack and runs to the playground. Then I look over and he is playing hopscotch. The time comes for him to line up and say goodbye. I had to ask him to wave to me and then he just took off into the room. I didn't even have time to shed a tear because it all happened so fast. Maybe I should have shed a tear for the fact that it wasn't even phasing him. At least we are raising an independent child. When I picked him up I asked him about his first day. He didn't have much to say about it...typical boy. He did say he met 2 new friends and one of them has a Wii. He said he is going to go play at his house soon. He also let me know that his favorite part was recess..of course it is!
We are so excited for Nicholas to start experiencing all these new things. I am also excited for the teacher he got. When we went to the Teacher Meet n Greet I thought his teacher looked familiar, and she thought the same thing. We started talking about it and realized we both worked at Hot Dog on a Stick together..like 15 years ago. It was pretty funny. Anyways I can't believe my oldest is in Kindergarten. Let the fun begin......

He survived! He is going to love Kindergarten.
Both my girls are so independent. It is a good thing. The only time I don't like it is days like this when they don't need me to even walk them to their class.
That is funny you worked with his teacher at Hot Dog on a Stick.
I heard a tip once that has really helped me with my one word answer son. You make your kids tell you 3 things about the day. By the time they tell you the 3 things, they are talking about their day! Works for me.
Yeah- that's Renee! When I pulled up your blog, my first thought was-(nice cleavage), and I totally know her! :) That's awesome. Renee was such a nice manager I bet she'll be a wonderful teacher! How cool that Nicholas had no problem with going to school, what a big boy.
Maddox acted the exact same way. You would think I would be used to it with Mason. Boys will be boys. He looks so cute. Maddox still asks why he isn't going to the same school as Nicholas and Brayden. :(
