Yesterday I became a real soccer mom. I knew I was on my way there when we bought our van, when I started carpooling for school, and when I would go through drive thrus because it was dinner time, the kids were starving and I hadn't been home in 3 hours to make a decent meal. Well yesterday I finally received that title.
Nicholas had his first soccer game yesterday. Let me just say it was so much fun! Luke and I didn't come from a family that played or even really watched soccer. I didn't know how I felt when Nicholas said he wanted to play soccer. I know NOTHING about the sport at all. This was the first time Nicholas was going to be on a team where he didn't know anyone. We got really lucky and was put on a great team. Since his birthday is right on the cut off I had the choice to put him on a team where he was the youngest or he could be on a team where he was the oldest. I figured it would be better for him to be the oldest since it was his first time playing this sport. Since he was the the oldest they played him A LOT and he was so tired. Poor boy wasn't used to running so much, but he absolutely loved it, and so did I!!! Even thought they didn't keep score, the game was intense. I was that screaming mom on the sidelines. I had to step away for a little bit because I was getting so worked up. I think I grew like 20 gray hairs as I was watching. Needless to say this sport is way different than baseball. It a nice change and we are so glad Nicholas likes it. Oh and just to brag a little he scored 3 out of the 6 goals that their team made. The score was tied 6-6, yes Luke and I were keeping score. Just call us competitive.
Nicholas made this pose up himself.

In their league there are only 3 players on each team playing, I thought this was a cute picture of the 3 boys waiting to kick the ball.
Running his little heart out.

I love the picture where he is posing. I really enjoy watching soccer, I hope BRooklyn doesn't give up easily like Madison did. I guess always have David. haha
I'm so glad that I'm not the only soccer mom around! Grace started soccer this year too. I also know nothing about the sport and just end up yelling at her to get the ball. I just love living my glory days through her! LOL.
I'm telling you, soccer is way better than baseball! Baseball is boring and soccer is where the action is at! :) Love the pictures and I'm so glad Nic is enjoying himself!
I loved hearing about you guys watching Nicky. It sounds really fun for him. And probably wears him out nicely :) Hmmmm...maybe Blake needs to try soccer.
CUTE!!
