I thought this picture above describes perfectly how it is traveling with kids. It's not fun and I honestly don't enjoy it.
We went up to Alpine to see all of Luke's family for the 4
th of July. Normally this drive takes us about 6-7 hours just depending on how many bathroom breaks we have to take. ON the way up there it took us 10 hours!! No you didn't read that wrong. 10 freaking hours. They were doing some pavement work right after St. George. we were stuck for almost 2 hours and the kids were going crazy. Noah was crying non stop because it was hot and we weren't moving. I totally pulled a Britney Spears and put him on my lap in the front. (i don't want to
receive any hated emails from the car seat
Nazis out there). Anyways we finally made it there, and we all had fun. I definitely realized a few things after this trip. The #1 thing was that traveling with 4 kids 5 and under is crazy and I will not be doing anytime soon.
Other things I realized were:
-I can do 6.2 miles. I ran a 10K with 2 of my sisters in law, and brother in law. I have been waking up at 4:45 a, to train for this and I did it! According to my
Garmin I did it in 1:04, but the chips says 1:07. Supposedly the chip is more accurate
hmmmmm..... I don't know about that.

After the race all the girls got a pedicure and it felt good. I even paid the people 7 extra bucks to give me a longer massage. It was wonderful!

The other 4 waiting to get theirs done

Parker's closest cousin in age. They had so much fun together and got along really well.

Luke and I enjoying time alone. The kids were so busy that we actually got to talk to each other.

Uncle Andy set up a race for the kids and Nicholas took it very serious. And yes my kid eats he just has a great metabolism...just like his mom.

They spent endless hours in this hot tub. Parker was having so much fun that he didn't want to get out to use the toilet, so he just pooped in the hot tub. GO PARKER, um not really.

I got these awesome(and cheap) star sunglasses. I made the kids all wear them for a picture before they all broke into pieces. The older cousins were great sports about it.

The ladies did some crafts and one of them were these water balloon flip flops. They turned out cute but were such a pain. My fingers hurt for at least a day after. Sammy better wear them forever!

Sammy still thought she was the mom to Noah. Poor guy.

These 3 babies were all born within 3 months of each other. We are missing one that is 5 months older than Noah. I know they will be great friends and getting into too much trouble.

Papa
Lund taking the kids on the famous lawnmower ride. Noah totally has Papa
Lund's mouth.

Even though it was crazy and exhausting we had a blast. The kids play non stop and when I look at this:

I know it's worth it. My kids are so lucky to have so many cousins their age. #20 is coming this winter.

Alisa you rock woman! That is so awesome that you ran the 10k and in such a great time... and after having a baby last November! Too bad I don't live near so we can run together- that seriously would be fun- (if I can run a 10k that is). Your trip sounds like fun except for the traveling part- yikes. What torture. In 2 wks we fly to Seattle to visit Adam's fam and I am scared to DEATH to take my pissy Sadie in the air for almost 6 hours! So to read that your travel was nuts scares the CRAP out of me- at least you were in a car where complete strangers didn't hate your guts, ya know? Keep us in your prayers please. Anywhoo... cute pictures and that's awesome you come from such a great fam AND have great in laws.
I love that picture of Grandpa Nick on the tractor!
