We're Ghetto

I like to think of us a classy family. Not too white trash or ghetto. Our ward had a Pinewood Derby for everyone. The boys were so excited to make their car. We kept putting it off, and totally forgot about it. Saturday comes and Luke realizes we forgot to make it. He tells the boys he will do it after basketball that morning. It was so not happening since Luke came home early from basketball with a hurt ankle. I thought it was broken but he said it was sprained. He couldn't do anything on it. The kids still wanted to go to the ward party so he said he would try to make a car. I could have stepped up and taken charge but I know nothing about those cars.

So basically Luke tried his hardest to do it in 3 hours with a sprained ankle. It was a great effort but it's still GHETTO! When we got there, there were some amazing cars. I'm not going to lie I was a little embarrassed by ours, but the kids had fun and that's all that matters, right? Whatever I was still embarrassed. Nick and Parker hung out by the track the entire time watching all the cars race. They loved it.
Nick decorated it himself.

Hahaha! That's awesome! Totally the best Pine Wood Derby car I've ever seen! I personally like kids' projects when you can tell the kids were actually involved and it wasn't ALL done by the parents - but that's just the teacher in me.
